Position Overview:

As a General Laborer / Apprentice at Global Polishing Solutions, you will play a vital role in our projects’ success. Your responsibilities will span across all facets of our work, including concrete polishing, epoxy coatings, and concrete repair. You will report to the Polishing, Epoxy, or Concrete Repair Foreman, depending on the assigned tasks for the day. This position is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start a career in the concrete industry and grow within our company.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Versatile Support: Assist in various tasks related to concrete polishing, epoxy coatings, and concrete repair projects, as assigned by the Foreman.
  2. Surface Preparation: Assist with surface preparation activities, including grinding, shot blasting, scarifying, and cleaning concrete surfaces.
  3. Polishing and Coatings: Support the application of epoxy coatings, the operation of polishing machinery, and the polishing process under the guidance of experienced technicians.
  4. Concrete Repair: Assist in identifying and repairing cracks, joints, and damaged concrete areas to restore structural integrity.
  5. Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of tools and equipment used on the job site.
  6. Quality Assurance: Work diligently to ensure the quality and integrity of the work performed meet company standards and client expectations.
  7. Safety Compliance: Follow safety protocols rigorously to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and your team.
  8. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of daily activities, materials used, and any challenges encountered.
  9. Team Collaboration: Collaborate with team members, including Foremen and other skilled trades, to achieve project goals.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior experience in construction, concrete work, or related fields is a plus but not required.
  • Physical fitness and ability to perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work effectively within a team.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Commitment to safety and adherence to safety guidelines.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation preferred.
