Position Overview

As a Business Development Manager for GPS, you will be responsible for identifying, cultivating, and closing new business opportunities within the industrial, warehouse, manufacturing, and storage sectors. You will also play a crucial role in establishing and nurturing relationships with key industry players, including property managers, property owners, and real estate firms like JLL, CBRE and many others.

DUTIES ARE:

  2. Epoxy Mixing and Application:
    • Accurately measure and mix epoxy and other coatings materials according to manufacturer specifications.
    • Apply epoxy coatings evenly and smoothly using appropriate tools and techniques, such as rollers, brushes, or squeegees.
  3. Safety and Environmental Compliance:
    • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to protect themselves and others on the job site.
    • Follow environmental regulations for handling and disposal of coating materials.
  4. Quality Control:
    • Monitor the quality of the application process, ensuring that the epoxy coating is applied evenly and without defects.

Job Description

We are currently seeking an experienced Preconstruction/Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess advanced knowledge in blueprint analysis, specifications, and construction documents, along with a proven track record in commercial construction estimation. As a Preconstruction/Estimator at GPS, you will play a pivotal role in assessing project costs and ensuring the successful execution of our commercial and industrial floor polishing and coating projects.

 

Responsibilities

  1. Review project specifications, blueprints, and other relevant documents to understand project scope, materials required.
  2. Perform quantity takeoffs to determine the amount of materials needed for each project.
  3. Utilize your expertise in construction costs, market rates, and historical data to prepare comprehensive cost estimates, including labor, materials, equipment, subcontractor fees, and overhead expenses.
  4. Prepare detailed bid documents and cost proposals for submission to clients, general contractors, property managers, building owners and others outlining project costs, timelines, and other relevant information.
  5. Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors to obtain pricing for materials and services, including soliciting bids, negotiating prices, and selecting cost-effective options.
  6. Identify opportunities for value engineering to reduce costs without sacrificing quality or functionality and propose alternative construction methods or materials as needed.
  7. Conduct risk assessments to identify potential project risks and uncertainties and develop contingency plans to mitigate their impact on project costs and timelines.
  8. Collaborate closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure that cost estimates align with project requirements and budget constraints.
  9. Stay updated on industry trends, construction technologies, and cost estimating software to continuously improve accuracy and efficiency in your work.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field (preferred).
  • Proven experience as a preconstruction estimator in the commercial construction industry.
  • Advanced knowledge of blueprints, specifications, and construction documents.
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills, with the ability to perform detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimations.
